Mommy/Daddy and Me has been a request of the community for a long time and is a brand new program here at Burbank School of the Ballet.

This class is a 45 minute class, held once per week, in the morning. This class will move along quite quickly as our little ones have limited attention spans.  It is designed to help to develop the small and large motor skills while taught to the tune of a pied piper.

Many little ones find it hard to leave their Mommies side for their first classroom experience. In this class Mommy (or Daddy) will stretch, skip, jump, bend and sing right along with their little ones, therefore creating a comfort zone so that absolutely no separation anxieties emerge.

Budding ballerinas in this class may begin at the tender age of 2 accompanied by Mommy.

We are currently identifying interested students.

Pre Ballet 25

Mommy/Daddy & Me dancers are required to wear:
Leotard:Any color leotard with any skirt, pink tights and pink ballet slippers.
Boy dancers should wear black spandex pants, white t-shirt and black ballet slippers.
Moms and Dads should dress so they can move comfortably right along side their child.
No outside shoes are permitted in the studio, so ballet slippers are recommended for parents as well.

Pre-Ballet is the first step of uninhibited independence in a ballet class. This is a 45 minute class, generally taken once per week; however some students choose to take the class twice a week. Students can generally begin at the age of 3 provided they are potty trained. Large and small motor skills are continued to be challenged in this class right along with creativity.  This class has a bit more directions to follow than the younger one with mom as we are also developing the disciplines that go hand in hand with classical ballet. The class is taught in a pied piper sort of way while also teaching the proper French vocabulary that accompanies classical ballet.

Enchanting the children through their lessons as they dream of sugar plums and becoming beautiful ballerinas is our forte at BSB.  This is where we introduce our adopted program “The Enchanted Doorway.”

Primary Ballet is for young ballerinas that are growing up! This class is a 1 hour class. Students are generally entering Kindergarten or the First grade.  Students usually attend this level once per week. It is in this class our skills begin to become refined while the disciplines of classical ballet such as taking turns, respecting each other, the teacher and the dance room are emphasized. Musicality and rhythm are linked together with age appropriate steps like skips, gallops and jumps that slowly become combinations across the floor.

These young ballerinas are beginning to feel the true joy of dancing while gaining the self confidence necessary to succeed in this art form.
